🎉 New Business Openings Around Denton County
Denton County is expanding with some exciting new businesses! Here are a few upcoming spots you won’t want to miss:
🐕 Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming: This pet specialty store opened last week in Highland Village, offering full-service grooming, fresh-baked dog treats, specialty birthday cakes, and quality pet products with a grand opening celebration planned for next month.
🎃 Spirit Halloween: The seasonal costume chain is opening multiple Denton County locations starting next week, stocking costumes and Halloween essentials through early November.
👗 Nordstrom Rack: The discount retailer will open this fall in Flower Mound, offering discounted designer apparel, accessories, and shoes with convenient pickup and return services.
🐎 Saddle Up: Now open in the former Horny Toad space near 288, this rodeo-inspired bar offers mechanical bull rides, Texas-style cocktails, local brews, and live weekend country music.

🚧 I-35E Construction Continues in Lewisville
Major lane closures are planned for I-35E near FM 1171 in Lewisville this weekend as construction work continues. All northbound lanes and one southbound lane will be closed between FM 1171 and Main Street from Friday evening through Saturday morning. A second closure will affect all southbound lanes Saturday evening through Sunday morning, with express lanes in both directions closed for the entire weekend. TxDOT advises drivers to seek alternate routes and expect delays as detour signs will guide traffic around the construction zone. This ongoing project has faced multiple weather-related delays since June, but crews were able to complete steel girder installation at the end of last month.

🌭 Portillo’s Coming to Tanger Outlets: Portillo’s is opening a new location at Tanger Outlets in Fort Worth, right on the edge of Denton County. Known for its iconic Chicago-style street food, this addition will bring classic Portillo’s flavors closer to Denton County residents.

🎡 97th Annual North Texas Fair & Rodeo
August 15th - 24th, 2025 | Denton County Fairgrounds, Denton, TX
